Larry Sends in the Troops for First Earnings Call

Larry Page spared only two minutes of his day to drop in on his highly anticipated first earnings call as CEO of Google, which Peter Kafka is live-blogging here.

In an exceedingly calm voice, Page said he is “very excited about Google and our momentum,” adding his new team has “really hit the ground running,” with the changeover from long-time CEO Eric Schmidt “working very well, exactly as we have planned.”

Then CFO and SVP Patrick Pichette took control, accompanied by SVP of Advertising Susan Wojcicki and SVP of Commerce and Local Jeff Huber, as well as SVP and Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora piping up for the Q&A.

Wojcicki and Huber were recently promoted as part of Page’s inaugural management reorganization. The two have been invited to speak on earnings calls before, appearing on the line-up for the Q1 2010 call.

Earnings call regular Jonathan Rosenberg, who is leaving the company, did not participate.

Earnings call ringleader Pichette remains CFO, and Page expanded his role to include human resources and business operations.
